When I first started writing, this space was known as The Heart Wood Journal.

At the time, my ceremonies took place beneath the trees at my private venue, The Heart Wood. It was a place where couples gathered to celebrate love, connection and new beginnings, and the journal became somewhere to share ideas, inspiration and guidance along the way.

While that chapter has now come to a close, the heart of my work hasn't changed.

Today, you'll still find me creating relaxed, meaningful wedding ceremonies across Gladstone and Central Queensland, helping couples celebrate one of life's most important moments in a way that feels genuine, personal and unmistakably theirs.

This journal has simply grown alongside that journey.

Planning your wedding is an exciting journey, but the legal process can feel a little overwhelming. Here’s what you need to know to make it simple and stress-free.

Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) – This form must be lodged with your celebrant at least one month before your wedding.

Who Can Get Married? – You must be over 18 and not currently married. Same-sex and gender-diverse couples are fully recognised.

Witnesses & Paperwork – You need two witnesses over 18 on the day of your ceremony.

Legal Wording – Certain legal statements must be included in your ceremony to make it official.

After the Wedding – Your celebrant will submit your marriage paperwork, and you can apply for an official certificate.
